Live NBA Over/Under Calculator
Live totals move fast. By the time you've done the math in your head, the number has moved. This free calculator turns the score, the clock and the posted live total into a projected final score, a win probability for the over and the under, and an edge — in about five seconds.
How to use it
- Pick the period and enter the time left on the game clock.
- Enter the combined points scored so far and the live total your book is showing.
- Add the pregame closing total if you have it — it's the best starting point for pace.
- Read the projected final, P(over) / P(under) and the edge. No edge? The model says PASS.
How the projection works
- The model starts from the pregame total divided by 48 minutes — the market's own estimate of pace.
- As the game goes on, it blends in the actual scoring rate. Early in a game the pregame number carries most of the weight; late in a game, what's happening on the floor does.
- The uncertainty shrinks as the clock runs down, so a 6-point edge with 2 minutes left means far more than the same edge at the start of the 2nd quarter.
- Overtime risk, blowout bench minutes and late-game fouling are all accounted for.
When to pass
When the edge is small, the honest answer is no bet. Most live numbers are priced well — the calculator is just as useful for keeping you out of bad bets as for finding good ones.
FAQ
